Installation is very simple on most models. High grade foam pads are mounted to the back of the frame for an area of separation between the guard and the radiator core. Approximately 5mm of a "crush zone" is used by these pads to absorb the medium to large impacts. The guards are mounted so it can float on the pads and not pick up vibrations from the bike or ground. Proper mounting varies bike to bike and brand to brand specified in the instruction kits provided. They are easy to clean and easily removable for deep removal of bugs and other debris. The guards really look great in any color and compliment the sometimes less than attractive radiator/oil cooler cowl area.
